3-Step Guide to Perfect Blind Measurements

3-Step Guide to Perfect Blind Measurements

Measuring for blinds doesn't have to be complicated. Just follow these three simple steps for a perfect fit every time.

Step 1: Choose Your Mount Style

Decide whether your blinds will be mounted inside or outside the window frame.

  • Inside Mount: For a clean, minimalist look. The blinds fit snugly within the window recess.

  • Outside Mount: To make a window appear larger. The blinds hang over the window frame.

Step 2: Take Your Measurements

Use a steel tape measure and record all measurements to the nearest ⅛ inch.

If you chose an Inside Mount:

  • Width: Measure the width of the window recess at the top, middle, and bottom. Record the smallest measurement.

  • Height: Measure the height of the window recess at the left, middle, and right. Record the smallest measurement.

If you chose an Outside Mount:

  •  Width: Measure the width of the window frame. Add at least 3 inches to this measurement.
  • Height: Measure the height of the window frame. Add at least 3 inches to this.

  • Step 3: Final Checks
  • Before you order, use these quick tips to ensure success.
  • Measure Twice: Always double-check all your measurements.

  • Round Correctly: Round down for inside mounts and round up for outside mounts.
