A substantial antique oak gate leg wake table of oval form, dating to around the turn of the 20th century. Constructed from solid oak throughout, with a wide plank top displaying attractive grain, colour and natural ageing.
The table stands on turned baluster legs with traditional swinging gate supports, allowing the leaves to be opened or closed as required. When extended, it comfortably serves as a large dining or refectory table; closed, it works equally well as a hall or occasional table.
A genuine country piece with good scale and presence, offering versatility and strong decorative appeal.
Condition
Good antique condition overall. Expected age-related wear including surface marks, small knocks, shrinkage gaps between boards and historic patina to the top, all consistent with age and use. Structurally solid and usable as it stands.
