Bring a little backstage magic into your home with our handcrafted Theatre Footlight Personalised Table Lamp, inspired by the warm glow of traditional theatre stage footlights.
At the heart of the design is a beautiful antique-style shell shade made from solid brass. This premium component gives the lamp its authentic theatrical character and casts a wonderfully warm, atmospheric glow when illuminated.
Each lamp is designed and handmade in our Devon workshop using reclaimed timber, solid brass and carefully selected electrical components. The artwork is individually created for each customer and inked directly onto the wood before the lamp is sealed with a protective matte varnish.
This is not a mass-produced novelty lamp. It is a substantial, handcrafted piece of lighting, made from quality materials and designed to be enjoyed for many years.
Personalised for You
Your lamp can be personalised with:
- Actor or performer names
- Character names
- Show titles
- Theatre company names
- Song lyrics, quotations or personal messages
- Special dates or opening-night details
Whether commissioned to celebrate an opening night, drama school graduation, wedding, memorable role or much-loved production, each design is created especially for its recipient.
The finished artwork is monochrome, allowing the black ink to stand out beautifully against the natural grain of the reclaimed timber.
A Meaningful Gift for Theatre Lovers
Our Footlight Lamps have become firm favourites with actors, performers, theatre lovers and amateur dramatics groups. Previous lamps have found homes in the dressing rooms of performers from productions including Les Misérables, Mary Poppins, Bat Out of Hell and Billy Elliot.
They make particularly memorable gifts for:
- Opening nights
- Drama school graduations
- Cast and director thank-yous
- Weddings and anniversaries
- Favourite performers
- Musical theatre enthusiasts
They are equally at home in dressing rooms, theatre rooms, living spaces, reading corners, music rooms and creative studios.
Solid Brass and Reclaimed Timber
The distinctive footlight shell shade is made from solid brass, rather than being simply brass coloured. Its rich antique-style finish complements the warmth and character of the reclaimed wood and makes the lamp feel as special when switched off as it does when illuminated.
Because we work with reclaimed timber, no two lamps will ever be identical. Knots, grain patterns, colour variations and small natural markings are not flaws; they are part of the history and character of the wood.
Handmade at Cockington Court, Devon
Every lamp is made by us in our workshop at Cockington Court in Devon. The timber is prepared, wired, personalised, inked and finished by hand, with care taken at every stage.
A distinctive piece of British-made lighting for anyone who loves the atmosphere, nostalgia and romance of the stage.
